How to make a wreath step by step

Ingredients:

Gather a mix of foliages such as: pines, rosemary, camellia, eucalyptus, olive, berries, any long lasting evergreen( ivy is a *** to work with so best avoid unless you have extreme patience and tolerance to ivy prickles!)

Gather a mix of seasonal decor like: dried fruits, oranges or apples, cinnamon sticks, cones, hydrangeas, baubles, ribbon

Mechanics:

A ring, could be a single metal hoop, a willow hoop, or a metal ring to cover with moss or straw as a base

Reel wire

Stub wires to attach the fruits or a glue gun

Method:

Cut your foliages to even equal length

Tie on you reel wire at the top of the hoop.

Make a bundle of foliage and lay it at an angle across the base.

Bind the wire over the stem side tightly.

Your next bundle is to lie just over the stems in the same direction. Bind all the way round in the same method, overlapping each bundle just a bit,

Keep going until the ring is gorgeously green. It will take longer than you think!

Once complete, you’re ready to decorate.

If using wires, attach the cones and fruits with the wire and thread through. If using a glue gun, place objects on and stick away!

Complete with a generous ribbon.

Design ideas and tips:

Ribbons could sit at the top or the bottom.

When looking at your wreath you want to avoid same items such as cones, sitting on the same horizontal or vertical line.  They will look like eyes, ears or dividers and symmetry is to be avoided!

Bind tightly and methodically so the pieces stay in place and it looks even.

Use your door wreath as a table centre piece. Place a candle in the centre!

Result:

Not just a beautiful wreath and even more importantly

A sense of pride
